Trumpet improv for Iphone and Ipod touch 2, current version : 1.0
Board 1 "Trumpet live" section :
At any time, by shaking your Iphone, a scale will appear in order to show you, how and where to place your fingers.
Tilt your Iphone from up to down to change the pitch (have a look on the "learn to play" menu for more details about the pitch range). When you make a fingering chart, the name of the note you are playing appear. The color of the note will help you to know in which position you are.
By default the pitch range of our trumpet extends from the written F# until high C(4) with three positions ( up, middle, down). This is an ideal way for beginners to get familiar with the trumpet. But at any time, you can extend it and change the number of positions. Have a look on the "Théoric" section Board (2).
3 different bands ( guitar icons ) will accompany you for a "jam session", each band playing different music styles : Latino, Funk and jazz.. you can also change the volume of each to get a better mix with your trumpet. ( You will find trumpet improvisation sheet music for each of them in the learn to play section
You can see a 3D Trumpet moving while you are playing, from up to down depending on the note being played. We tried to reproduce the movement of this instrument in action, for more realism and interactivity with the player.
Board 2 “Theoric” section:
In this section, you can change the regions of the pitch range on the range, by changing the number of positions and moving the pitch bend from up to down to chose the notes you need for playing your song.
Trumpet range extends from the written F# immediately below Middle C up to three octaves higher. Standard repertoire rarely calls for notes beyond this range, and the fingering tables of most method books peak at the C (high C) two octaves above middle C
Board 3 "Option" section:
Microphone "On" "Off" you can choose to blow into the microphone and make notes with your fingers or just use your fingers to make the notes. It is interresting for beginners to use the "off" mode for trainning. Of course "Ipod" users can only use Off" mode to play.
Sensibility "1 to 5" because nobody blows in the same way, you can increase or decrease the sensitivity of the microphone. "1" is the high sensitivity and "5" is the low sensitivity.
Show notes "On" "Off" expert players can choose to desactivate the note on the live section.
Spotlights "On" "Off" You can choose to desactivate this option when you are playing.
In a classical trumpet you can make a note without pressed valve button, with your application the fingering pattern for this notes is the third valve pressed
Because we wanted to make our Ocarina compatible with Ipod touch without microphone, and give the opportunity to play without blowing, that why change this fingering pattern.
It sometimes doesn't correctly recognize the holes you are trying to cover
The iPhone only permits 5 fingers at a time to touch the screen. If you touch the screen in more than 5 places, the touch screen will reset. Don't put your 6 fingers on the screen !
